These terms govern your use of Ostiary, a verification and moderation service for Discord servers. By starting verification or otherwise using Ostiary, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Ostiary is a gateway that a Discord server operator uses to verify new members before granting access. Verification may include a CAPTCHA, a VPN/proxy check, and browser/device fingerprinting used to detect duplicate or evading accounts. Ostiary is a tool operated by the server's administrators; the server, not Ostiary, decides its own rules, roles, and who may remain a member.
You must meet Discord's own Terms of Service and minimum age requirement to use Ostiary. Your use must also comply with the rules of the Discord server you are verifying in.
To verify, you consent to the collection and processing described in our Privacy Policy. In short: identifying inputs (IP address, browser fingerprint, user agent, and a per-device token) are irreversibly hashed with a secret salt before storage, and are used only for verification and detecting alt/ban-evading accounts. Raw IP addresses and fingerprints are not stored.
When using Ostiary, you agree not to:
Based on the server's configuration, failing a check may result in your verification being denied, and โ if you are not yet verified โ your removal from the Discord server (similar to a kick). By default, only one Discord account per person may verify: if your sign-in matches another member's prior verification, your request may be denied. Moderation decisions are made by the server's administrators using the information Ostiary provides.
Ostiary is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and verification may occasionally produce false positives or negatives. Service may change, be suspended, or be discontinued at any time.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ostiary and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of access to any Discord server, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
For questions about these terms, or for data-removal requests, contact a moderator or the owner of the Discord server you are verifying in.
